The Challenge

Your practice runs on
trust and confidentiality

A single compromised email or leaked document can end a client relationship, or worse. Law firms are a top target for phishing, wire fraud and ransomware because attackers know how much a single mailbox can be worth.

Meanwhile, PIPEDA and Law Society of Ontario expectations keep evolving, insurance carriers ask harder questions every renewal, and your team needs to reach matters from court, home and client sites without opening up a back door.

How We Help

Secure, compliant IT
for Ontario law firms

We build IT systems around the way lawyers actually work. Secure remote access to PCLaw and the Dye & Durham suite, encrypted email, controlled document sharing, Canadian cloud backups and audit trails that hold up when insurance or the Law Society asks questions.

Flat monthly pricing with a 60-minute response SLA keeps your costs and your downtime predictable. A dedicated local team learns your practice areas and your workflows, and when something breaks in PCLaw or the Dye & Durham suite, we call the vendor's support on your behalf.

Common Questions

Law Firm IT FAQ

Have a question that isn't covered? Get in touch. We're happy to talk through specifics.

01 Do you understand PIPEDA and Law Society of Ontario technology expectations?
Yes. We build every law firm IT environment around PIPEDA and Law Society expectations including client confidentiality, records retention, secure communications and Canadian-based file storage. We help you keep the policies and documentation your insurance carrier or the Law Society may ask for ready to hand over.
02 Can you support PCLaw and the Dye & Durham suite?
Yes. PCLaw and the Dye & Durham suite (Unity, est8abase, Fast Company, WillBuilder, Conveyancer) are what we see most often in Eastern Ontario firms. We handle installation, user setup, conveyancing and trust account integration and ongoing support. If your firm runs on something less common, we will learn it. When something breaks, we call the vendor's support directly, fix the issue and document the steps so the next incident can be avoided or resolved even faster.
03 What happens if we get hit by ransomware?
Our job is to make sure that does not happen. We run layered defences, tested offsite backups and a practiced incident response plan that we can run tabletops against if your insurance carrier requires it. If the worst happens anyway, we restore your matters and documents from clean backups usually within hours, and full system images the same day, without paying the ransom.
04 How do you handle encryption for client documents?
Documents are encrypted at rest on your servers and cloud storage and in transit when they leave your network. We also configure secure client portals for file exchange so sensitive documents do not end up as unprotected email attachments.
05 Can our lawyers access files securely from court or home?
Yes. We set up secure remote access and cloud identity with multi-factor authentication, so lawyers can reach matters, email and practice management from court, home or a client site without exposing your firm to credential theft. Access is tied to verified user accounts and managed devices, not a shared password.
06 Do you help with cybersecurity insurance attestation?
Yes. Insurance renewal forms are a regular part of our review sessions with law firm clients. We sit down with you, walk through the carrier's questionnaire, tighten any controls the form flags and make sure the supporting documentation for endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication, patching, backups and user training is in place and ready to attach.
07 What happens to our existing IT provider during the switch?
We handle the transition. We coordinate with your current provider to gather credentials, documentation and access. Your team does not need to lift a finger, and we keep your firm running during the handoff.
08 How does your pricing work for a small firm?
Flat monthly pricing based on the number of users, workstations and servers we support. No hourly fees for support, no surprise invoices when something breaks. You know exactly what your IT costs each month, which makes budgeting easier for sole practitioners and small partnerships.
