Last updated: May 25, 2026
Acadian Computer Service ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit acadiancs.com or contact us, how we use it and your rights under Canadian privacy law.
Who we are
Acadian Computer Service is an IT services provider based at 632 Norris Court, Kingston, Ontario K7P 2R9. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at acadian@acadiancs.com or (613) 384-6735.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the site and respond to your enquiries.
Information you give us
When you fill out a contact form, request a consultation or email us, we collect:
- Your name, business name, email address and phone number
- Anything you tell us in the message field about your IT environment or what you need help with
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our analytics tools record:
- Pages you viewed and how long you stayed
- How you found us (search engine, direct link, referring site)
- Approximate location (city level, derived from IP address)
- Device and browser type
How we use it
We use the information you give us to reply to your enquiry, send you the consultation or quote you asked for and follow up on any work we agree to do together. We use analytics data to understand which pages and topics are useful and to improve the site over time.
We do not sell your information, rent it, trade it or share it with marketers. We do not use your information to send unsolicited promotional email.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of trusted service providers to run the site and handle enquiries. Each of them only sees the information they need to do their job.
- Cloudflare Pages hosts the website and may log basic request data for security and performance.
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager measure site usage. Google may collect cookies and process data on servers outside Canada. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out browser add-on.
- Growably powers the contact and consultation forms on the site. Form submissions are stored in our Growably account so our team can respond.
- Microsoft 365 handles our business email and stores correspondence you send us.
We may also share information when required by law, for example in response to a court order or to investigate suspected fraud.
Cookies
The site uses cookies in two ways:
- Essential cookies keep the site working (for example remembering you've dismissed a notification).
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics record anonymous usage patterns.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect site functionality.
How long we keep your information
Contact form and email enquiries are kept for as long as we have an active relationship with you, plus a reasonable period afterwards (typically seven years) to comply with Canadian tax and business record requirements. Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
How we protect it
Your information is stored on systems protected by access controls, encryption in transit and provider-level security. Only our staff and account managers see contact details and only when they need them to respond to you or service your account.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA and Ontario privacy law, you have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal record-keeping requirements
- Withdraw consent for any non-essential use of your information
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe we've mishandled your data
Email us at acadian@acadiancs.com to exercise any of these rights. We'll respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is meant for business use. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, let us know and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when the current version took effect. Material changes will be announced on the site.
