The Problem

You won't see the
gaps until it's too late

Most security incidents start quietly. A reused password leaks in a breach somewhere else. A staff member clicks a convincing invoice. A patch sits uninstalled on a server for six months. By the time anyone notices, the attacker has already been inside for weeks.

Insurance carriers know this and they're tightening up. Renewals now ask hard questions about MFA, backups, training and patching. If the answers aren't honest and documented, claims get denied or premiums climb.

How We Fix It

A practical security
posture, not a checklist

We build a security plan that fits how your business actually operates. Monitoring, endpoint protection, email security, MFA, patching and backups all work together so a single failure doesn't compromise the whole business.

Your team gets training that respects their time, policies they can actually follow and a local Kingston number to call when something looks off. No call centres or scripted responses.

Proposal delivered within one week

3

Headache free rollout

Endpoint agents, email filtering and policies deploy in the background. Staff training scheduled when it suits your team.

Most clients onboarded within two weeks

4

Ongoing protection

24/7 monitoring, scheduled patching and security analysts on call who isolate threats the moment something looks off.

Regular summaries to keep you informed

Prevention & Recovery

Security blocks the attack.
Backups save you when one gets through.

The hardest lesson ransomware teaches is that no defense is perfect. A complete plan pairs this security stack with properly tested backups of your servers, endpoints and cloud data. We run both, so recovery is measured in hours, not days.

Common Questions

Cybersecurity FAQ

Something not covered here? Get in touch.

01 How is this different from your managed IT service?
Managed IT covers everything, from password resets to in-depth technology planning, under one flat monthly fee. Cybersecurity is for businesses that don't need unlimited support and just want the security stack and the expertise to run it. Think of it as managed services without unlimited labour. You pick the coverage that fits your compliance, insurance and risk profile. We build the stack, deploy it, monitor it and respond when something goes wrong.
02 What does a free security audit actually cover?
We review your IT infrastructure end to end. That includes your software platforms, data storage, backups, endpoint protection, patching and network security. We don't just list the gaps, we explain what each one would mean in practice. For example, strong endpoint protection paired with no backup of your cloud data is still a serious problem. Microsoft 365 is not a backup, and most businesses don't realize that until we show them. You leave with a written, prioritized summary. No obligation, no pressure to buy anything.
03 We already have antivirus. Isn't that enough?
Antivirus is one piece of a much bigger picture. Most modern attacks come through email, stolen credentials or unpatched software, not viruses on a USB stick. Real protection means monitoring, patching, email filtering, MFA, training and a tested backup system. We help layer those so a single failure doesn't compromise the whole business.
04 Do you still need backups if cybersecurity is strong?
Yes. Cybersecurity works to keep attackers out. Backups are what save you on the day one gets through anyway. Ransomware doesn't care how many layers of defense you have if your files are encrypted and your backup is either missing, stale, or encrypted too. Every security engagement pairs with proper backup and recovery testing.
05 Do you help with cyber insurance applications and renewals?
Yes, we help clients with applications and renewals every year. The conversation is usually eye-opening. The gaps we've been flagging for months (MFA everywhere, separate admin accounts, tested backups) are the same things insurers now require for coverage. A common one: most staff log into their workstation and cloud apps with an account that has admin rights. Insurers increasingly expect a separate, rarely-used admin account for elevated changes. We document what's in place so your answers are honest, and we close the gaps that would put a claim at risk.
06 What happens if we get hit despite all this?
We respond. Our security team isolates affected accounts and devices within minutes, works through recovery from your backups and coordinates with your insurer if needed. Because we know your environment, recovery is hours instead of days.
07 Can you work alongside our existing IT person?
Absolutely. We're often the security layer for businesses that have an internal IT lead handling day-to-day support. We share documentation, coordinate on changes and back them up when something serious comes through.
08 Do you cover businesses outside Kingston?
Yes. We serve Kingston, Gananoque, Brockville, Napanee, Belleville and Prince Edward County. Most security work is delivered remotely, with on-site visits for the parts that need them.
