When Did Your Last Test Your Backups?
Most businesses assume their data is safe until it’s too late. If you aren’t verifying your backup restoration process regularly, you cannot be sure your data is protected in a disaster. The reality is simple, untested backups are not reliable.
Silent Backup Failures
Backup software can fail without warning. Drives fill up, connections drop, files become corrupted. Without someone monitoring and testing backups, you might be relying on a backup system that stopped running months ago.
Ransomware Targets Backups
Modern threats like CryptoLocker don’t just lock your active files, they hunt for attached backup drives and network resources and encrypt those too. If your backup isn’t isolated from your network, it offers zero protection against these common threats.
The Cost of Downtime
In the event of data loss, the question isn’t just if the data can be recovered, it’s “How long will it take?”. If your disaster recovery plan doesn’t include rapid recovery then your business could be offline for days or weeks while services are restored.
A Bulletproof Strategy for Protecting Your Data
Monitored & Tested Backups
We don’t rely on automated alerts to tell us your data is protected. We review backup logs each morning and perform regular test restores to prove that the data is accessible and there when you need it most.
Secure Off-Site Storage
Your backups are completely isolated from your network and stored exclusively in Canadian data centers. Even in the event of a security issue, the backups cannot be deleted, encrypted, or overwritten, ensuring you always have a working, compliant version of your data ready to restore.
Complete System Protection
We go beyond simple file backups by capturing full system snapshots, allowing us to restore an exact copy of your server or workstation in minutes. We also extend this protection to the cloud, securing your Microsoft 365 emails, OneDrive, and SharePoint data against accidental deletion.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can’t I use OneDrive or Dropbox as my backup?
No. These tools are designed to sync your files and are not true backup. They do not allow restoring a copy of your entire computer with installed programs, settings and other details. They also do not offer any guarantee on the ability to restore deleted or infected files.
How fast can we get back up and running after a disaster?
Individual files and folders are generally restored within minutes. For hardware failure we can either restore to a new computer, or restore to the cloud so we can get your team back up and running within the hour while we wait on replacement hardware.
I have a physical harddrive that has failed, can you recover the data?
Yes! We know that emergencies happen. We are partnered with a specialized data recovery lab which we use for physical drive failures and mechanical damage where backups do not yet exist. We can then work with you to ensure proper backups are in place moving forward.
How far back can we restore data from?
We customize retention policies based on your industry requirements. Most clients choose 90 days as a suitable restoration window but we have no limits on how long backups can be kept available for. Many industries like legal and accounting have 7 year retention policies in place for their backups.
Will cloud backups slow down our internet?
We will work with you to tailor our backups based on the amount of data, speed of your connection and working hours. We create incremental backups that only upload data that has changed which means backups run quickly and use very little bandwidth. These backups are also scheduled to automatically run outside of business hours so there’s no interruption to your operations.
