The Problem

Rural internet that's
slower than it should be

You live outside town. Your only options have been overpriced fixed wireless or DSL that crawls. Streaming buffers, video calls freeze and forget about working from home properly.

Starlink solves it. But finding the right spot for the dish, running cable cleanly into the house and getting the Wi-Fi to actually reach the upstairs bedroom is more work than the box suggests.

How We Fix It

A clean install,
done by IT pros

We assess your property remotely using satellite imagery, pick a dish location and show up with the mounts, cabling and Wi-Fi equipment we need.

Because we are an IT company, we do not disappear after the dish goes up. Many of our Starlink clients also have us look after a slow laptop, a printer issue or their business IT back in town.

Common Questions

Residential Starlink FAQ

Something not covered here? Get in touch.

01 Why hire Acadian instead of doing it myself?
Self-installation works for some people. But getting the dish in the right spot, running cable cleanly through walls, sealing the entry point properly is the difference between Starlink working great and Starlink being a headache. We handle all of that, weatherproofed and tested before we leave.
02 Where will you mount the dish?
Wherever it has the clearest view of the sky. Most installs go on a roof, wall or pole. Sometimes a ground mount makes more sense. We use the Starlink app to check obstructions and we'll show you the best spot before any holes get drilled.
03 How much does installation cost?
Depends on the mount type, cable run length and whether we're also setting up Wi-Fi mesh inside. Most residential installs land in a clear, predictable range and we quote you up front before any work begins.
04 Will Starlink work in heavy snow and bad weather?
Yes. The dish has a built-in heater that melts snow off automatically. Heavy storms can cause brief drops the same way they can affect any wireless service, but day-to-day Starlink is reliable in rural Eastern Ontario weather.
05 Can you also install Starlink at a cottage, hunting cabin or RV?
Yes, all of the above. Cottages, hunting cabins and 4-season properties are some of our most common installs. We have also done Starlink mounts on RVs for mobile customers. Pausing and resuming Starlink service month to month is something you manage through your Starlink account, but the install itself is the same clean job we do everywhere else.
06 Do you install Starlink for farms, rural offices or remote work sites?
Yes. A lot of our residential Starlink clients are business owners with rural properties, so we also handle Starlink installs for farms, warehouses, shops and remote office locations. Details are on our Starlink for Business page. Happy to look after your cottage and your workplace with the same team.
07 What about Wi-Fi for a big house or property?
The standard Starlink router is fine for small to medium homes. For larger houses, multi-storey homes or homes with thick walls we usually add a mesh Wi-Fi system or business-class access points so the signal reaches everywhere. We test room by room before we leave.
08 Where do you install Starlink?
Our usual service radius is about 150 km from our Kingston Office. That covers Kingston, Gananoque, Brockville, Napanee, Belleville, Prince Edward County and the surrounding rural areas of Eastern Ontario. If you are further out and willing to cover the travel, we are generally happy to go. Call us with your address and we will confirm.
